During the month of June in nursery we usually look at a few topics- The Seaside, Summer Holidays, Going To School (P1) and Staying Safe In The Sun. We will begin to talk about going to P1 in some of our videos and stories later this month to prepare the children for their next stage.

Here is a funny story today about Harry the dog at the seaside. After the story why not try some of the listening games? You can find these in the document provided by Getting Ready To Learn which is attached below. This document also explains how important developing these listening skills are. We explored some of these during our senses week. Miss Collins has made a video to explain how to play 2 of them in the video below.
Have Fun!

Today Miss Collins has a very special parcel to share with you. Can you guess what is inside? There are 5 caterpillars inside the parcel! We are going to learn about the lifecycle of a butterfly from watching our caterpillars change and develop. I will post some updates over the next few weeks. (This may continue into the summer as the parcel took a while to arrive!) We usually explore this lifecycle together in nursery so hopefully the children enjoy learning about the different stages at home. After listening to the animated ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ story today you might like to paint, draw or make a caterpillar for yourself. Enjoy!

Today Mrs McCandless has a recorded a lovely story for you about a little boy called Dave and his toy dog. His sister Bella does something very kind. After you have listened to the story can you tell a story about your favourite toy? Maybe you could even make a story up and tell it to your family?
There is also a short video update about how our caterpillars are doing. Enjoy!

Today we have a caterpillar update and a story all about helping to reduce sea pollution. After can you have a look at these cards, see if your child can spot the rubbish and discuss the dangers it might pose to wildlife.
Have a lovely weekend!
